Lobbying

Within the framework advocacy and lobbying, actions have been carried out as follows:

-Sensitisation, communication and information of administrative, military, religious and traditional authorities and populations on child trafficking and exploitation.

-Organization of training seminars for the capacity building of NGOs and associations within the framework of the RODEUR and other networks.

-Meetings and experience sharing trips on advocacy.

-Negotiation with the Councils for a more effective involvement of the populations in the management of local affairs.

-Production and distribution of awareness and communication pedagogic materials for a better understanding of by-laws and change of behaviour.

-The structuring of communities in view of the enhancement and their involvement in development.

-The establishment of the social and economic alliances with other organizations and networks for the implementation of large-scale advocacy and lobbying actions;

-Social housing.

Results

ASSEJA has been the implementation agent of the Awareness and communication Action for the Fight against child trafficking Programme.

-The adoption of a national law against child trafficking in Cameroon: law no 2005/015 of December 29 2005 in relation to the fight against child trafficking.

-Participation in the celebration of the child with awareness and advocacy actions (poems, sketches, songs etc. by the children).

-Research on the phenomena of the commercial sexual exploitation of children.

-02 million persons sensitized on the existence and dangers of the commercial sexual exploitation of children during the national consultation with ECPAT International a Thai NGO, on the 27^th and 28^th of July 2006 in the Yaounde Congress Hall.

-The establishment of partnership ties with CEPI.SA for access to micro credits.

-Press conference on youths’ employment and vocational training within the framework of the Youth-PRSP.

Action framework

-       AGVDEL (Support to Vulnerable Groups and Local Development) for the social and vocational integration of children and youths

-       ICOGESPUR (Support Programme in Favour of Community Initiatives, Vulnerable Groups and Participatory Urban Management)

-       RODEUR action plan

-       Project for the fight against child trafficking in West and centre Africa (LUTRENA) for the adoption of a legal frame for the fight against child trafficking.

-       Activities relating to the fight against the commercial sexual exploitation of children.

-       Advocacy for the involvement of the youths in the implementation of PRSP within the framework of the Youth-PRSP network

-       Advocacy for support to Persons Living with HIV and their access to treatment with PATAM, RECAP+ and CARE.

-       Advocacy for the access to drinking water with the Cameroon National water Corporation
