Areas of intervention
The support for community initiatives covers the areas relating to access to drinking water (community drinking fountains, drillings and the rehabilitation of water points), accessibility to neighborhoods, sanitation, access to basic social infrastructure and social cohesion. Since 2005, through the ICOGESPUR programme, micro community projects have been implemented in some Councils and neighbourhoods of the Yaounde city. This support for community micro-project is being extended to other municipalities of the cities of Yaounde and Bertoua.
Target groups
Target populations are:
• Populations living in the poor neighbourhoods (lowland, peripheries, etc...) suffering from lack of drinking water.
• The remote communities that do not have access to the drinking water supply network.
4 - Access of populations to basic infrastructures and their involvement in the management of the City
Vision: Have cities where most social problems are solved and where life is worth living thanks to the involvement of actors and networks and operational partnerships created between them.
